We could talk about ancient hanging rainforests and majestic mountains plunging into the deep deep waters of Fiordland, but it's starting to sound like a page out of a bad Mills & Boon romance novel.
Lets not waste your time and get down to the nitty-gritty of just why you should choose Go Orange.
In a very simple nut-shell all operators in Milford Sound travel the same route. Up the left-hand side, turn around at the Tasman Sea, and return down the right-hand side. It's how you do it, the style of vessel, personnel, food, length of cruise and pricing that differentiates us all and helps Go Orange stand out from the crowd!
All Go Orange cruises are 2 hours in duration - making them the best value 2 hour cruise in Milford all day long. The Milford Haven is a slightly mature (late 80's) retro-style boat, but our customers are delightfully more concerned with being outside soaking up Nature-At-Its-Best than sitting inside worrying about our interior decor. She's unique in that she's a large vessel, but has a small-boat attitude. The Milford Haven doesn't take any shortcuts, but takes a relaxed cruise up the side of the fiords, poking her bow in under waterfalls. Denis, our skipper swears the spray from the Stirling Falls, Milford's second highest permanent waterfall, will knock 10 years off your age!
Not just there for decoration, our crew are there to ensure you make the most of your experience in Milford Sound. They'll bust out the food and coffees and then get outside to stand with you under the spray of a waterfall, point out any wildlife, answer an questions and help you take an amazing group photo if the selfie's just aren't working. Pop up and say hi to our skipper in the wheelhouse - he's not hidden away behind a glass partition, he loves a good old chat with customers.
See our timetable above for departures, awesome prices and relevant free food offerings. With 2-hour cruises priced from $45-$85 we have the best valued cruises in Milford Sound. Our free food portions are snack-sized (but did we mention FREE!), you're welcome to bring more food & drinks on board with you or purchase additional food and drinks on board (cash only).
Avoid parking issues during the summer by ditching the car for the day and joining one of our coach n cruise options from Queenstown or Te Anau. Our awesome 'coach captains' will make your day personal and fun. Stop at all the best photo stops on the way into Milford Sound to connect with an afternoon cruise. Note that we have two coaches running this summer with the early departure connecting with our 12:30pm fish n chip cruise and the later coach connecting through to our 3pm cruise that dishes up a delicious piece of carrot cake.
Wildlife: Milford Sound is home to unique birds and wildlife; get up close and personal and view seals chilling on the rocks and playing in the shallows just meters away. On occasion dolphins, whales, and the very rare Fiordland Crested Penguin visit the sound providing privileged photo opportunities.
* As always with Nature everything is weather dependent. How far out to the Tasman Sea we will travel on the day will be weather dependent. We aim to make the cruise as comfortable and safe as possible.
